MISSION STATEMENT ABOUT THE BEVERLY HILLS/HOLLYWOOD NAACP
Founded Feb. 12, 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization. Its more than half-million members and supporters throughout the United States and the world are premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.

The mission of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

The Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch of the NAACP is focused on youth educational and social issues and the disparity between the resources available to youth living in upper/middle class communities and those living in this inner city/urban communities. We have developed a yearlong enrichment program designed to recruit, simulate, educate and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among minority youth and have partnered with mental health organizations that provide resources for many issues faced by pre-teens and teens in their daily lives.
